1. How to use this guide

Hockey jerseys are not T-shirts. They are cut roomy, long in the body and wide in the sleeves, so shoulder pads and elbow pads fit underneath. A size that feels big off the ice is often right on it.

This guide shows you how to choose a Jerzo size by comparing with a jersey you already wear. We do not publish a measurement chart on this page yet. When you are unsure, email us your measurements and we will recommend a size.

The collar choice on lace-up styles, lace-up or crew, does not change the size. Both use the same body.

3. Measure a jersey you already own

This is the most reliable method. You need a tape measure and a flat surface.

  1. Pick the right reference. Use a hockey jersey that fits the way you like, worn over the gear you plan to wear. A T-shirt or hoodie is not a good reference; they are cut differently.
  2. Lay it flat. Front facing up, smooth out wrinkles, sleeves out to the sides.
  3. Chest width. Measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other, about one inch below the armpits.
  4. Body length. Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the bottom hem.
  5. Sleeve length. Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
  6. Write it down. Note all three numbers, in inches or centimetres, and which jersey they come from.

Send those numbers to [email protected] with the Jerzo product you want, and we will recommend a size.

4. Measure your body (if you have no reference jersey)

  • Chest: around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, tape level. Wear the pads you will wear under the jersey, or note that you measured without them.
  • Height: it helps us judge length.
  • Usual size: tell us what size you buy in other hockey jerseys or sports tops.

Body measurements are less precise than a reference jersey, because the jersey is meant to fit loosely over gear. Email them to us and we will help.

5. Choosing between two sizes

  • Wear pads? Go up. Shoulder pads add width; a tight jersey restricts reach.
  • Wear it off the ice over a hoodie? Go up.
  • Want a closer fan fit with nothing underneath? Stay at your usual size.
  • Long arms or tall? Going up gives more sleeve and body length.
  • Still torn? Email us your reference measurements.

6. Goalie sizing

Goalie gear changes everything. A chest protector and arm pads add bulk across the chest, shoulders and upper arms. Our goalie cut is wider through the body and sleeves for that reason.

  1. Put on your chest protector.
  2. Put on the jersey you wear over it now, if it fits well.
  3. Take it off and measure it flat: chest width, length, sleeve.
  4. Compare with the goalie cut product, or email us the numbers.

Between two goalie sizes, go up. A slightly loose goalie jersey moves better than one that binds over the shoulders. Young goalies: the youth goalie cut follows the same idea in youth sizes.

7. Youth sizing

Kids grow. Fast. A jersey that fits perfectly in September may be short in March.

  • Measure a jersey your child wears now, over their pads.
  • Many parents choose one size up so the jersey lasts the season.
  • If your child is at the top of Youth XL, look at adult S.
  • For learn-to-skate groups with mixed ages, collect each child’s current jersey size before ordering.

8. Women’s cut or unisex?

The women’s cut is narrower in the shoulders and shaped through the body. It suits a closer fit for games in the stands, rec skates or off-ice wear.

  • Choose the women’s cut for a shaped fit with little or nothing underneath.
  • Choose an adult unisex size if you wear shoulder pads, prefer a loose fit, or want to match teammates in the same cut.
  • Women’s cut sizes run XS to 2XL. Measure a top you like and compare, or email us.

9. Size chart status

A full measurement chart per size will be added to this page once confirmed. Until then, use the comparison method above and email us for a recommendation. We would rather give you an honest answer by email than publish numbers we have not checked.

10. Personalisation and size

Your name and number are printed to fit the design on every size. On larger sizes the lettering has more room; on small youth sizes, long names are printed to fit across the shoulders. Names up to 12 characters fit all sizes. The preview on the product page shows how your text sits.

Check the size before ordering a lettered jersey. Personalised jerseys follow the rule on our Returns & Exchanges page.

11. Team sizing tips

  • Collect sizes from every player in writing before ordering.
  • Ask players to compare with a jersey they own, not a T-shirt size.
  • Goalies size separately in the goalie cut.
  • Mixed sizes and cuts in one order are fine. Add one cart line per player.

12. Wrong size?

It happens. Returns are accepted within 60 days with a free return label, and the refund is issued within 7 days of the return reaching us. To exchange, return the original and order the size you need. Changing size before production is possible within 24 hours of ordering; see Cancel or Change an Order.

13. Care keeps the fit

Machine wash, tumble dry low. Our jerseys are mesh fabric, 100% polyester. Following the care instruction helps the jersey keep its shape wash after wash.

14. Ask us

Email [email protected] with the product, your reference jersey’s chest width, length and sleeve, and whether you wear pads. We reply within 24 hours on business days. More help: FAQs, Help Center, Submit a Ticket.

15. Fit notes by product

Custom and blank two-stripe jerseys

The custom two-stripe and blank two-stripe share a regular skater cut, roomy for shoulder pads. Adult S to 4XL. If you play in them, pick your usual hockey jersey size; for a fan fit with nothing underneath, many people stay at their usual top size.

Diagonal sash and shoulder yoke

The diagonal sash and shoulder yoke jerseys use the same skater cut as the two-stripe style. The design changes; the sizing does not.

Lace-up hockey sweaters

The custom lace-up sweater and the blank lace-up sweater come with a lace-up or crew collar. Same body and sizes either way. If you wear a neck guard, the crew collar sits flatter under it, but the size you choose stays the same.

Solid practice, chevron, pinstripe, fade and plaid

All of our adult blank designs, including the solid practice jersey, chevron sleeve, pinstripe yoke, fade and pond plaid, use the adult skater size run S to 4XL. For outdoor wear over a hoodie, especially with the pond plaid, consider one size up.

Crest jersey

The crest jersey uses the adult skater cut, S to 4XL. The crest is printed centred on the chest and scaled for the size.

Goalie cut

The custom goalie cut and blank goalie cut run S to 3XL and are wider in the body and sleeves than the skater cut. Measure over your gear.

Youth

The custom youth jersey, youth blank practice jersey and youth blank two-stripe run Youth S to Youth XL. Size up one step if you want the jersey to last the season.

Women’s cut

The custom women’s cut and blank women’s cut run XS to 2XL, narrower in the shoulders and shaped through the body.

16. Common sizing mistakes

  • Using a T-shirt size. Hockey jerseys are cut bigger. Compare with a hockey jersey instead.
  • Measuring around the jersey. Measure flat, straight across the chest, one side only.
  • Forgetting the pads. Measure the jersey you wear over the gear you play in.
  • Ordering youth sizes for this season only. Kids often outgrow a snug jersey before spring.
  • Guessing for a goalie. Always measure over the chest protector.

17. A quick decision path

  1. Playing in it with pads? Use your hockey jersey size, or one up if between sizes.
  2. Goalie? Use the goalie cut and measure over gear.
  3. Child? Youth sizes, consider one up.
  4. Want a shaped fit, little underneath? Women’s cut.
  5. Wearing it as a fan or off the ice? Your usual size, or one up over a hoodie.

Still unsure after that? Email us. One reply usually settles it.

18. Sizing questions we hear most

Do Jerzo jerseys run big?

They run like hockey jerseys: roomy enough for shoulder pads. Compared with a regular sports top, that feels big. Compared with another hockey jersey, it should feel familiar.

Is 4XL available in every design?

Adult skater designs run up to 4XL. The goalie cut runs to 3XL, the women’s cut to 2XL and youth to Youth XL.

Why do the largest sizes cost more?

Adult 3XL and 4XL, and goalie 3XL, use noticeably more fabric, so they add $3. Every other size is the same price.

Does the lace-up collar fit differently?

No. Lace-up and crew collars sit on the same body. Choose the collar for the look and comfort, and the size for your build.

Can I exchange if I get it wrong?

Yes. Returns run 60 days with a free return label. Return the original and order the right size. Personalised jerseys follow the rule on the Returns & Exchanges page.

Can I order two sizes and return one?

You can. The unused jersey can be returned within 60 days with a free return label, and the refund is issued within 7 days of the return reaching us. For blank jerseys this is the simplest way to settle a close call.

19. Measuring tips for accurate numbers

  • Use a soft tape measure, not a metal one.
  • Measure twice. If the numbers differ, use the average.
  • Keep the jersey smooth but not stretched.
  • Tell us whether your numbers are inches or centimetres.
